*NEW* Photographs

Self: NikonD7000 ISO 500 f/4 1/60
This is a NEW image, and my true self, me in my favorite hat with my camera! I chose to make my camera the focus of the photograph.

Just Married: Nikon D7000 ISO 200 f/7 1/200
The new Mr&Mrs getting in a Model A to go to the reception, my favorite aspect of this photograph is the grooms smile in the reflection in the car, also the bridal party in the reflection as well. I shot the photograph with the intention of capturing the reflection, but the expression is priceless.

Perfectly Pretty:NikonD7000 ISO 100 f/8 1/250
This photograph I chose because it gives the illusion that the field of daffodils go on forever. The depth of field is great. I wanted to have just one daffodil in focus. The sun light just seems to bounce off the petals.

Assignment 1: 10 Minutes From Home

To go 10 minutes from home and capture....anything.
Feathered Friend: Nikon D80 ISO 1600 f/5.6 1/2000
I love the depth of this picture in the tree's but also that the bird looks a little fluffed up, so you can tell that it was a little chilly this day. The birds eye is in sharp focus and the natural lighting is cast just the right shadows.

Assignment 2: Technical Operations

Perfect Poser: NikonD7000 ISO 800 f/5 1/60
Taken at the mall, I wanted to focus on Shawn but create depth in the surroundings. I made sure the eyes of the subject are in focus and the background almost looks like a mosaic with the lighting.

Johnathan in Motion: Nikon D7000 ISO 100 f/14  1/5
I wanted to show the technical aspect of keeping the background sharp but having the blur of Johnathan running. I sat on a tree stump and kept my arms on my knee's to capture the blur.

Assignment 3: Uncluttered

To have one subject fill the frame
Rustic Love: Nikon7000 ISO 200 f/2.2 1/4
This assignment was my first with my new camera, so I was and am still learning it. I used roses from Valentines day to fill the frame, but still wanted to use the horizontal and vertical lines of the subject and the wood grain to create a nice shot. I made sure to have the bottom rose in the most focus, but still wanted to have the woodgrain not in sharp focus.

Assignment 4: Unlikley Beauty

To find and capture something beautiful in an everyday object.
Where are my Glasses? NikonD7000 ISO 800 f/5 1/60
I wanted to focus on just one glass, but show the depth of the set up of glasses. I did use my flash to create more of a reflection in the glassware. I took several angels and moved all around the set up of glassware to get the shot I was most happy with.

Assignment 5: Faceless

I choose to make myself the subjest of this assignment, which proved difficult and challenging at times.
Me&My Babies: NikonD7000 ISO 280 F/5.6 1/125
I decided to use my children to hid my face as we embraced in  this faceless portrait. This was my favorite assignment, I thought making this picture black and white, would make it show more emotion.

Proud and HAPPY!
Not to many people take pictures of the scale, I just like how this image turned out, that it captured a part of my personality, and my struggle, but also my achievement. Of course it also captures a lot of who I am, I never wear matching socks, and I think that tells I have a fun personality.

Assignment 6:HI key/ LO Key

Using lighting to create dramatic lighting features.
Shadowing Shawnee: NikonD7000 ISO 400 f/5 1/80
I used lighting to create a shadow across the face as well as the use of his hood. I love how the shadows make the features of his face stand out. Looking at the photo, I would have changed it a little and made the background a little darker.
Grandma's Angel's NikonD7000 ISO 200 f/6.3 1/60
The bright sun reflecting against the porcelain angles, I like that the angles stand out, but there is also a subtle pattern in the background.

Assignment 7: Digital EYE

Using Photoshop to change the look of an image.
Pansy Revised: NikonD7000 ISO 100 f/8 1/250
I do not have the original copy, I only have the two edits. I used dramatic coloring in photoshop to change the simple look of the pansy. I prefer the top pic, in the changing of the color, the veins of the pansy were more visible.

Assignment 8: Photographic Styles

In an attempt to capture Eve Arnold's style,Eve is most known for her work with Marilyn Monroe, capturing her everyday moments, who she was when the camera's were not on. I took these images at my sisters wedding on 4.13.13
The Ring: 4.13.13 NikonD7000 ISO 800 f/5@1/60
This photograph I wasnted to focus on the ring, and the sparkle in the dress and the ring. I love the focal point of the ring with the dress detail slightly visble in the background.

Bride in waiting: 4.13.13 NikonD7000 ISO 1600 f/14 1/125
Simply pretty, waiting to leave for the church. The light from the windows behind her made her vail sparkle.

Butterflies 4.13.13 NikonD700 ISO 800 f/8 1/125
This is my favorite from the set, a moment caught, in a day that is mostly posed. True Eve Arnold.

I look pretty: 4.13.13 NikonD7000 ISO 1600 f/8 1/125
That moment in the mirror she knew she looked just as she always imagined, the reflection in the mirror says it all. I wish I would have widened the shot some.
Dramatic: 4.13.13 Nikon D7000 ISO 1600 f/5.6 1/125
This shot just reminded me of a pin up, that dramatic contrast and dark shadows. One of my favorites of the day.
